Full-time Aviation Maintenance QA Manager

Founded in 1957, our client has over 50 years of experience developing and operating customized supply chain and associated service solutions in demanding environments.

Our Client is the Aviation Division of this expanding Group and provides vital services in supply air logistics to remote sites in post conflict locations and remote areas.

They are currently seeking an Aviation Maintenance QA Manager to be based in Afghanistan.

Reporting into the Head of Aviation Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for preventing the occurrence of defects throughout the maintenance cycle.

You will have an overview of the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of fixed and
rotary wing aircraft and will work with the Head of Aviation Maintenance to ensure that all maintenance procedures and protocols are adhered to.

You will provide technical expertise in the aviation maintenance field, develop and implement Quality Assurance SOPs and will maintain an aircraft publications library.

Finally you will maintain and develop an electronic database to track scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events.



Knowledge and Skills:

You should be an accomplished Aviation Maintenance QA Manager and be a technical expert in one or more fields of aviation maintenance repair, i.e., engines, airframes, avionics, propellers and rotors.

You will be?familiar with Soviet aircraft structures and components, e.g., Mil Mi-
8T/Mi-8MTV, Mil Mi26, Kamov KA-32, Illyushin IL-76, Antonov An-26/32, An-24 and ideally have experience of working with Soviet aircraft and maintenance procedures.

Ideally you will be a??former U.S. Military Quality Assurance Representative or have extensive experience in a similar civilian role.

Ideally you will be US Military trained (or equivalent) or "ANP" (airframe/power plant) certified and have successfully completed a tour in either Iraq or Afghanistan or lived and worked extensively in a similar austere environment.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally be able to speak some Russian, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished aviation maintenance QA professional looking for something different.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month's service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, medical / health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.

Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.

In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client
