This is an exciting opportunity for a Testing Engineer to be involved in the development of test cases. In this position you are responsible for creating technical specifications, documentation and calculations for test instruments and devices. You will define and validate new testing concepts and develop test specific adaptation concepts.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION – Software Tester – Japan

• Performing LTE, WCDMA, GSM and C2K protocol, endurance and performance test cases with latest multimode LTE devices (USB dongles, modules, Smartphones)
• Analysing and reporting test results to core development and system integration teams
• Performing test device firmware updates
• Development of new protocol and performance tests for CMW500
• Maintaining and extending data base of test devices and device documentation
• Supporting R&S development teams using LTE test devices from different vendors
• Close cooperation and direct contact to LTE device vendors to obtain latest LTE test device
• software, problem reports
• Test sessions with LTE device vendors to debug device issues
• Hardware / software used
• Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 multimode protocol tester
• Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 protocol testing software tools
All these tests will be done under the standard TTCN.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• University Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications Engineer
• A minimum of 4 year experience as a test engineer in mobile communications, ideally for GSM, WCDMA or LTE terminals
• Good knowledge of GSM, WCDMA or LTE mobile communications standard, preferably in 3GPP
• Programming in C/C++.
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Good team player used to work in multicultural project teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS (Not compulsory)
• Knowledge/experience with any of the following is an advantage: Standard TTCN-3 and Understand telecom standards 3GPP.

OTHER SOFT SKILLS

• Willing to live in Japan.
• Good English communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Can work independently, easy to work with and strong team work spirit.
• Innovative and problem solving.
